Introduction
Here we are, the first 433 FM26 tactic of many to come. This one is wild and if you are here for entertainment and goals then this is the tactic for you.
I have used this one with Werder Bremen and it flips from a 433 to a 7 man attacking system. What this means is there are some very high scoring games.
Tactic Overview
Let’s have a look at the formation in both the in possession and out of possession FM26 tactic screens. For a bit of fun, check out your tactics in the combined screen to see some really odd formations.
So we started off with the 433 FM26 tactic because the key players of the squad indicated that they played best in this formation. As 433 is the original Gegenpress formation so it only makes sense to play that style of football in Germany. As the fans want attacking football we also added Positive mentality.

So on first impressions you are looking at this and thinking that I’ve finally lost the plot. Well yes in part I have, when building this 433 FM26 tactic I wanted to push this new tactic builder and break the game. I haven’t broken the game yet, but I’ve just taken a relegation candidate to 6th in the Bundesliga.
Key Player Roles
This is an area I am still getting to grips with. There are so many roles doing different things and it’s a bit confusing. I’ll go through the important roles here for unit in the 433 FM26 tactic.
Defence
Defensively the key roles here are the fullbacks which turn into a winger when in possession. Now this is a lot of field to cover and is physically demanding. What this means is that you need a player that can play from DR all the way to AMR and have the physical attributes to back it up.
Midfield
In midfield the two centre midfielders are so important as they support the attack in the danger zone just outside the box. This is the position which creates the most lethal chances for your many strikers. I’ve tried to change up their roles so they are not double handling the same job.
Attack
Where to start, the wingers I suppose. In defence they do a general role, but in attack they turn into central strikers. This is where the xG goes through the roof with the strikers and midfielders camped outside the box. I have also created one striker as a deep lying forward to cause chaos, pulling a defender out.
Team Instructions Explained
So this is where the tactical style is put together to synergise with the rest of the tactic.
In Possession

This is a simple gegenpress set up and it synergises well with the 433 formation we are using. Ironically, the best attacks come from winning the ball higher up the pitch in a central position. Some teams are far better at doing this when the goal keeper is taking a goal kick.
Out of Possession

As you can see there are some risky instructions here with the high line, the high press and press trigger. This means you need to recruit fast defenders rather than the towering types.
Strengths of the 433 FM26 Tactic
The main strength of the 433 FM26 tactic is how it crowds the centre of midfield to push teams out wide. It is also very effective as a gegenpress tactic because it is focussed through the middle.
In terms of the attack, it is one of the classics and has a number of options. Traditionally the forward would drop deep, the wingers would then cut in and attack the area they just vacated and overload. The wingbacks would move up to create width to stretch the defence. While this is happening one or two midfielders will be pushing up to support.
Weaknesses & How to Fix Them
The weakness in the tactic is the defence. It’s not easy creating a proper gegenpress FM26 tactic, you need the player with high physical attributes. I would also target younger players in order to keep the energy and selling them to bigger clubs further down the line.
Best Teams/Saves for This Tactic
The best teams to use this FM26 tactic with are teams that have nothing to lose. This mainly aims at relegation candidates who understand that goals win games and in turn keeps them up, rather than playing defensive.
I’ve used Werder Bremen, but other teams would include Sunderland and Auxerre. These teams are perfect to test this tactic and then develop them in the coming seasons.
Results & Testing
So far the team we created this 433 FM26 tactic with is Werder Bremen and that has worked rather well. We managed to beat the odds by getting into Europa rather than avoiding a relegation fight. We were the second highest goalscorers so we are in no need to recruit goal scorers, the focus is defence.

Final Thoughts
This 433 FM26 tactic 7th Heaven is exciting and unorthodox. You are going to score a lot of goals, but you will concede a lot too. The good news is as a result you will be able to sell attacking players for more money as their performance will be high level. You can then replace them with you next line of recruits.
It needs some tweaks, but this is a good start to keeping teams up in their division. Enjoy and have fun with it guys!
