Burnley FM26 Team Guide: Best Tactics, Transfers & Squad Breakdown

Reshaping Burnley’s Future

Time for the Burnley FM26 team guide! The yo-yo club are back in yet another form, this time under Scott Parker.

In this Burnley FM26 team guide we are going to analyse the squad and who the key players are, recommend FM26 tactics and highlight the top youngsters at the club.

This guide you will provide you with the launch pad you need to get your Burnley save game up and running.

Burnley FM26 Club Overview

Our first step in the Burnley FM26 team guide is the club identity. This is where we look at the board and supporter objectives. They will normally be recruitment or playstyle objectives to help define your managerial spell at the club.

Let’s get started by looking at the board objectives. They only have one and it is focussed on the recruitment at the club, it’s also to protect the future of the club. By not signing 30 year olds, it means that you are not holding too many resources in older players who are on the downward trend.

The fan on the other hand are interested in the play style according to their objectives. They want entertaining football with possession football, which is a really dominate style of football.

The tactical styles that play possession football are Fluid Counter Attack, Vertical Tiki Taka, Tiki Taka or Control Possession. Once you look at the entertainment side of things, Control Possession, Tiki Taka and Vertical Tiki Taka are your choices.

Burnley FM26 Squad Guide

Moving forward in the Burnley FM26 team guide, the focus shifts to squad analysis. We rely on the assistant manager’s star-based reports to highlight key players by current ability and identify any high-potential youth prospects.
Then, by reviewing their natural positions, we determine which formations are most suitable, giving us a tactical blueprint to work from.

Key Players

This has to be one of the more interesting key player groups in the EPL. We have extreme ages, which shows the club can’t afford the big signings of today. They have bought from big clubs though and the experience of Walker and Dubravka are invaluable, but you will need to rotate them out or they will block development.

There is a definite focus on defence in the key players, with Luis the DM, Walker and Hartman, and Esteve who I see as a centre back. Broja I think is a better concept than reality, but on FM24 he was an absolute beast.

A number of conversations could by had about the formation, but we are looking at 4 at the back by the looks of things.

Best Youth Prospects

Now this is where the Burnley recruitment has come to life. It says to me that they are aware that relegation could happen this year, but they have bought investments for profit or for the Championship next year. A long term plan seems to be on the cards with the EPL money.

Tchaouna is rated so highly and could potentially be a world class star in the making. Ugochukwu looks a very talented individual too. Both of these players should get first team football and it will help them to no end with their development. At this point the team is looking like a 433, although Hannibal is a AMC at heart, he can play MC well.

Formation Verdict: 433

Burnley FM26 Wonderkids & Young Talents

Since FM24 we’ve all heard about Luca Koleosho and his talent, unfortunately he is out on loan for the first season. I’m sure he will be raring to go in the second season when you keep Burnley up using the FM26 team guide.

As a wonderkid he will be developing at a fast pace and Espanyol are in a top league, so he will be getting the experience if he is getting the games.

Burnley FM26 Tactics & Best Formation

This moment in the Burnley FM26 team guide is all about unifying your tactical vision. With your formation chosen, your tactical style backed by data, and your essential players locked in, you’ve got the perfect starting point. This is the blueprint that will drive Burnley forward in FM26.

This is one of my favourite transitions, the out of possession 442 into the 3232 in possession. It’s like a swarm once we get the ball back, and we flip into an attacking force of nature. One full back squeezes into a central defensive position, while the other pushes into MC to create a 32 defense.

While this is going on the wingers push into the AML/AMR positions and one of the MCs push into the AMC position. This creates a 5 man attack which stretches and overloads the opposition defence.

This shape works even better if you use the FM26 433 transition model.

Transfer Recommendations for Burnley in FM26

Positions to Strengthen

Looking at the Burnley FM26 team guide, it looks as though Burnley could do with bulking out there midfield. While there are youngsters coming through, there isn’t a strong enough midfield right now.

We need to be looking at the central midfield, mainly the defensive side of the ball. Burnley want to be solid and that is an area we can really strengthen.

Potential Signings

I would look for the combative types, ones that are MC as well as DM. Looking at 21-27 age group, and using stats for route one football to bring that strong core. The attributes I used are strength, heading, jumping, bravery and first touch.

The suggestions are:

  • Vitaly Janelt (Brentford)
  • Aljoscha Kemlein (Union Berlin)
  • Ismael Doukoure (Strasbourg)
  • Facundo Bernal (FLU)

Burnley FM26 Save Challenges

I think the main task for Burnley is to remain in the EPL and become a sticky team. Burnley have been up and down more times than a yo-yo over the years and yet they are a team that everyone enjoys. The underdog team of the EPL and the honest football that they play.

Conclusion

Burnley are in for a tough time this season, being seen as one of the weaker teams in the EPL. It’s going to be an uphill task, but everything and everyone must be focussed on staying up. Once you stay up, things will get a little easier with access to more money and players. This will in turn help you develop the club in your vision.

I managed them using our Burnley FM26 team guide and it was a tough slog up to Christmas. We managed to get out of the relegation zone, but we just couldn’t get that run together to get away from it for long. As you can see we have conceded so many goals.
