Signing player under 23 is an easy task that a lot of teams employ.
The supporters on the other hand and a number of ideas for your playing style. They want attacking football, possession football, entertaining football and high-tempo pressing football. This points to the obvious tactical style, Gegenpress.

Key Players
This is the part in the Bournemouth FM26 team guide where we use the assistant reports to decide who our key players are. We have high standards so key players are players rated over 3 stars. These are the players that will make the most difference.
Technically our best player is Evanilson, but there isn’t much between these guys. This means we have a nicely balanced squad, meaning we can be flexible in our approach. Looking at the players which are available, we map the positions and it looks like 433.
Best Youth Prospects
The next step is to assess the youth prospects and wonderkids, which again I will map their positions. This will give us a full picture of the formations we can achieve and as result it could affect our tactical style choice.
We have a nice long list of prospects, so the future is healthy at Bournemouth. Doak and Kroupi look like the two to invest your time in and build a role in the team. Scott is a wonderful prospect too and has the potential to be great and the current ability to play now. The youth look like they could form a 424 in the future too.

So this is the real meat of the Bournemouth FM26 team guide, the tactics. This tactic is built from the information we have gathered from the previous factors. Let’s build this FM26 tactic.
The first thing to address is our tactical style, which we decided as a gegenpress due to the board and supporter objectives. It is mainly the supporter objectives that swayed us, but the high tempo pressing and attacking football sold it to me.
The formation is a lot easier to decide on, in the short term we are looking at 433, but in the long term we are setting up for a 424 attacking type. The good news about the 433 is that it synergises with the Gegenpress tactical style really well. It floods the middle and the press focuses on the middle, then switch it out wide and get in that box.
This is a simple transition, we are 4141 out of possession and 433 in possession. It’s a transition which is fluid and not much change in positioning.
Transfer Recommendations for Bournemouth in FM26
Positions to Strengthen
When looking at the key players we can quite clearly see that there is lack of defenders in the team. That includes each channel, which is no surprise after the players they sold in the summer.
I would look for these defenders using attributes like Work Rate, Acceleration, Anticipation, Stamina, Aggression as we are using a Gegenpress tactical style.

There are a number of challenges you can do with Bournemouth using our FM26 team guide. The main one I would look to do is the youth developer challenge, this fits in with the general ethos of the club too.
The other challenge is a long game to win the Premier League. That sounds easy but not necessarily. This is something that would complete the Bournemouth story.

Overall I really enjoyed using Bournemouth especially as they are a fan favourite in real life. Ultimately we want to aim for the Premier League which is a real possibility.
