The Complete Sun Dream Team Tips Guide for 2025/26

The Sun Dream Team

The original fantasy football, this is the one where it all started for me many years ago. This is the reason I have decided to create my Sun Dream Team tips. I still remember the summer holidays in Spain picking out my team, changing it every day.

It’s also the one that I found most social as a lot of people I knew from various companies had team and leagues.

Here we go again! Another season with the The Sun Dream Team. Like I’ve said numerous times before this one gives me some great memories. The only way to describe it for me is that this one was my gate way into playing the numerous fantasy football games that I do. Welcome to my Sun Dream Team tips!

Every year it seems to evolve in some way and yet still keeps it’s simple and easy to use design. While I cannot stand the paper I have always looked forward to their fantasy football game opening. This year is no different!

Changes

This year we have two new changes to the game which could affect the way you play. The first one is around transfers and the second is the new substitute feature.

So you still get two free transfers a week, but if you don’t use them they roll over to the next week, and you can do this to store up to four transfers. This means you can have 6 transfers saved up for one week, 4 rolled over and the standard two from that week. Very useful if you need to pull some players as a difficult patch of fixtures is coming up.

The next new addition is the substitute feature, which allows you swap a player out who didn’t play for someone who yet to play in that game week. We something similar to this in the Club World Cup Fantasy Football. I found it useful if a player didn’t start that I expected to start, I could then swap him out. You can only use this feature 5 times in the season. We’ve already built some Sun Dream Team draft team ideas to get you going.

Sun Dream Team Tips and Strategy

So the Sun Dream Team is the biggest game of the fantasy football games as it encompasses games from EPL, FA Cup, League Cup, Europa Cup, Conference League and the Champions League. This means there are so many points on offer, and certain players have more opportunities.

Another area worth noting is the price fluctuations that happen. If you play this right you can end up with a a much larger budget than other players. This means that you can buy better players as the campaign continues.

The winner in the 2024/25 season got 4711 points last year. As always we divide that over the 38 game weeks and then increase it with a tolerance of 10%. That means we need 136 points a week, which is fine with players that play twice a week. We need to focus on having the players in Europe and regular starters in the EPL.

We’ve got to focus on the bigger points in order to make the chunk of our target. Goals are 6 points, clean sheets are 5, and assists are 3, these make up our bread and butter. On top of that our players should be earning 2 points a game for playing up to 60 minutes and then 60-90 minutes.

This also opens the door for my PER model in picking players. This model is based on the points system in the Sun dream team and the supporting factors for each metric.

Sun Dream Team Tips Conclusion

So in conclusion, this is going to be a great season and I will start providing player recommendations, draft teams and formation ideas over the coming weeks as transfers start to conclude.

It’s a difficult time to be picking teams at the moment as the transfer season is in full swing. One thing I will say though, the top four are really looking to strengthen their squads this year.
