The new kids on the block
Every year we have new arrivals in the EPL for Telegraph Fantasy Football and this year is no different. I have been doing my analysis on every that has arrived so far so you don’t have to.
This is a top 10 list of the players so far! Sit back and enjoy as we count down to number 1.
Every year we have a lot of new and exciting names joining the best league in the world, the EPL! This makes Telegraph Fantasy Football even more interesting as more players are recruited and teams change. This can make the difference between winning the league or getting relegated.
This season is no different and it has seen some top players from around the world joining what is already the best league in the world. Telegraph Fantasy Football does not get better than this, the new season with the new names.
The way this works is that I used my analysis of the tier 1 and tier 2 leagues around the world to give you an indication of how players we perform in the EPL. Without further ado let’s do this!
Telegraph Fantasy Football New Arrivals
10. Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal)
Probably the most talked about player in the last 6-8 months, is he going United? Is he going Arsenal? Well he ended up at Arsenal and could be the player they have been waiting for.
It’s been obvious for a while that Arsenal need that goal scoring with the killer instinct and with 39 goals in 33 league games, that is impressive. While he has not ever played in the top leagues, he certainly has ability and we could be seeing about 20 goals in the EPL from him.
9. Maxim De Cuyper (Brighton)
This guy is what you call an attacking fullback, his duelling scores are average, but his possession and chance creation are very good. This makes him very useful for Telegraph Fantasy Football, clean sheets and assists. He could be a double threat for Brighton and really make a difference.
8. Olivier Boscagli (Brighton)
Where do Brighton find these players from? This one is sitting right under our noses in Holland too. Olivier is a fantastic player on the ball and great at duelling, again he is a double threat. He looks to be a great ball playing defender and even helps out with chance creation.
7. Anton Stach (Leeds)
Now this is an interesting one, like most of Leeds recruitment this summer. He is a player that I have noticed over the last couple of years. Described as a calm and collected deep lying playmaker, with both good metrics in possession and duelling. He is 26 now and so is about to hit his peak form, let’s see what he can do.
6. Evann Guessand (Aston Villa)
One of my personal favourites in France. I couldn’t believe he was being linked with West Ham in January, he is better than that. While he can score goals, he is more of a complete striker in that he can add to the build up play too, so assists and goals could be on his agenda. The question is, will Ollie Watkins move on or out the way for him?

5. Tijjani Reijnders (Man City)
Last year Man City, lost games they should of won, and that was because they didn’t have that rock in midfield with Rodri injured. This season they have Rodri back and Reijnders which creates a very balanced base for a midfield trio with Cherki maybe. Reijnders is the balanced midfield who adds to every stage of play, possession, duelling, chances and goals.
4. Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool)
A very exciting signing for the EPL and the Telegraph Fantasy Football. Again Ekitike is not just a scorer, he can create as well, but he is lethal in front of goal. In terms of performance, we know how good Kane was, this guy was chasing him in the Bundesliga. With the midfield that Liverpool have put together and his goalscoring ability it could be fireworks.
3. Granit Xhaka (Sunderland)
He’s back! And I would argue that he is better than before, a midfield general. It’s strange how things work out, I thought he was going to Milan then he signs for Sunderland. This guy is a leader, a top possession specialist and he likes to create the chances for his team mates.
2. Rayan Cherki (Man City)
Wow! Man City have gone to town and done good business early. Cherki is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and Haaland is going to love having this guy threading through balls all game. Cherki has the potential to lead the assists rankings and that means Haaland could be leading the scoring charts too. Are Man City back?
1. Florian Wirtz (Liverpool)
This guy is going to change the way Liverpool play their game, the only worry is will he be the new focus over Salah? He literally has got everything in an attacking sense and he did it in a top league. He plays possession, he scores goals and he creates chances, you can’t ignore him in Telegraph Fantasy Football.
Conclusion
There we have it, a run down of all the top new players which have joined the EPL. These players will make Telegraph Fantasy Football even more interesting and competitive. We will see plenty of changes as well as twists and turns.
I cannot wait until the season kicks off in 7 days time, it’s going to be a great season! Hopefully we will see a team come out of no where and challenge the top teams in the league, although I am looking forward to Wirtz and Liverpool.
Who do you think we be the best signing this season so far? Is there anyone who excites you more than others?
