Man City have currently conquered all competitions under Pep. It’s clear that this guy has more on his mind, a perfectionist at heart, he wants more.
Here we go, another fantastic issue of how to mange a premier league team in the first season on FM24. What we do in these guides is take control of every Premier League team for the first season. We do this so we can offer our recommendations and suggestions to help with your game.
This is the guide in this series everyone has been looking forward to, Man City. They are the best team in the league and one of the most popular saves on FM24. The problem we find that a lot of players face is, who is my first team? This is one of the questions we will answer for you in this guide.

Man City Results
In this section we discuss the team results and what they mean. Team results can be a very basic form of data and will help identify big chunks through trends. That then helps with recognising what types of teams you can beat and whether you a better at home or away.
Looking at the results from the start of the season, you can see we have dominated from the start and won every game to November. Not only that, but we have beaten teams of every level, apart from Porto in the Champions League, that was something else.
There;s not much to say here, we have the best team and have beaten everyone apart from Liverpool and Man Utd. This could mean that we struggle against big clubs, but I think it was more to do with the number of injuries we had and how many games we has. I also believe the team are getting better as we go on, dispatching lesser teams more easily.
Looking at the league table, we are unreal, apart from the blot of a loss. We have a huge goal difference, conceded less than one a game, and scored nearly three a game. The Man City stats on FM24 are crazy, and I’m not really sure what I will do with them after this season. Overall it has been plain sailing, a few injuries, but the team are performing well.
Individual Performance
In this section, we discuss the individual performances of the squad. This can indicate trends as to what we are doing well, and also the weak links. This is where I go granular on data when facing a bigger problem in the team. We can hone in on strengths and weaknesses, creating a solution for them.
This team have been incredible. The first thing you notice is how many players are playing over a 7 average rating. Even the ones that aren’t are not far off. Everyone is playing there part and it’s easy to see why we are performing well. When you have talent like Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden you expect results.
Looking at the data available, you can see that most players are exceeding their Xg and showing their quality. Foden and Rodri slightly below par, which causes slight concern in a success model. We will look at the roles they have and what suits them to start with.
In the passing test, we can see that Erling Haaland, Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden are not passing well. I’m really not bothered about Erling Haaland as he is a goal scorer and not a creator, and he is fulfilling his role well.
Kovacic could be a cause for concern as he plays as a box to box, keeping an eye on him. Phil Foden on the other hand could be a bigger problem at this level, while I like in real life, he may not fit in this squad.
Man City Tactics
In this section we discuss the tactics that we used this season and how they work. We use our day one guides to start with and if we change anything then along the way we will discuss here. At the end of the day the day one guides are a theory based on the data to hand.
So I wasn’t sure if this tactic would work with Man City on FM24, but the players and roles available led me to believe it would. As we can see from the information above, we could not have gone much better. I just can’t believe that other teams are keeping up with us, that makes those games important.
The problems we have had with this are not tactical problems. We have played alot of football this season and we have accumulated a lot of injuries which would indicate that we are overworking the team. This means we need to look at training workloads, squad depth in each position and if we have injury prone players.
Overall, I’m very happy with the tactic and we have number of ways of winning the game. It doesn’t really matter what sort of delivery we have as Erling Haaland is actually that damn good. Either way I can see us walking the league eventually.
Conclusion
Man City have been a fun team, they can play entertaining football and score lots of goals across a number of competitions. That should appeal to any manager, I am personally looking to win everything and see if it can be done. Plus the board have just given me another £230m to spend and I have a few ideas to push this team.
The strength of this team is Haaland, he is the best striker on FM24 with only one of two who could compete. Use him to his strengths and keep going with it. The weakness of this team is that I think it is too small to take on so many competitions across the season. You do not want to run your team into the ground to lose all the titles.
The opportunities of this team is the midfield, they are amazing. The passing plays and movements are great, especially when combined with the full backs. You have a nice mix of ages so you be able to strengthen all the time. The threat in this team is that with so much investment you could be investing into the wrong players like Man Utd have done over the years.
