Fulham Objectives
First things first, let’s look at the objectives for Fulham. The supporters seem to be a very passionate and straight forward bunch. They want to stay in the division and be competitive with their rivals. They also want you to develop the youth, this means that you want to grow your own timber.
This means we need to look at the coaching stats, all coaches need a good at working with youngsters. This also means that we need to get the youth training to the best level. As you will see, there is a good talent pool at the club already. Get some scouts that have high ability in scouting youngsters and fill any gaps in the youth teams.
The board are no different to any other board that we have had in this series. Attacking and possession football is very straight forward and my favoured way to play. It gives us plenty of options in terms of formations and styles.
So there is clear identity that Fulham are following here. They want to develop their own youth so they are not at the mercy of the transfer market. There isn’t a huge amount to say here, develop the club to focus on youth. This means the staff, the players and the tactics need to be targeted this way.
Fulham first 11
The first impressions of the key players at Fulham are very positive. They have 5 key players, so that is half of a first team and they play in different positions. This helps us to find a formation that works for us using the key players as a framework. Unfortunately, three of out key players have major injuries.
Looking at the key players, we can see that 4141 and 433 DM are very prominent. These are both great formations for possession, so that works in relation to our objective. Looking at the rest of the squad below, we have a number of wingers, which makes our decision easy, 433 DM. That is an attacking formation which is the next objective the board want.
Other than the overload on the fullbacks, it is a very balanced and good sized squad. There is some potential in the team, but their are better out there. This means that you will have to focus on growing your own timber in the youth teams. Additionally, we have a lot of physical players, which is great for an attacking team, it relates to pace.
Fulham Tactics
So after much discussion above, below is how we have set the team up. Starting from where the goals are coming from, Jimenez is a fantastic pressing forward, which means his supply will be through balls and defenders making mistakes. No need for wingers in this team, when Jimenez wins the ball he will have two options either side of him.
There is so much speed in the forward line, so when we win the ball we want to counter straight away, otherwise we lose our advantage. The midfield three are solid and in our typical pattern of one role each. The solid back four means that we a good defence to start the attacking transition.
Due to the roles we have included, it will promote effective passing patterns. We will not play the ball to the defence in fear of them losing the ball.

As you can see Fulham are a club on the up, they have the potential to do better. Their main strength comes from the physical side, they are fast and strong. The main weakness looking at the squad is that their is not a recognised goal scorer in the team, so you need to find a way around that.
The opportunity here is that you could build a really attacking and good footballing side, which in turn could make it to Europe. The threat to the team is that if something is not done to help the youth teams, then there will be trouble ahead for the club.
