So I’m going to be honest, this is my second attempt at Brighton FC on FM24. The first attempt went so bad that I got sacked in January, I think this was down to underestimating the challenge and rushing through it. Everything I tried did not go to plan and is down to poor preparation. With that said, we stuck with the same tactic and built around it from the start.

In this guide we are going to:

  • Look at the end of season league performance and individual performances.
  • We will look at the tactics which have been used.
  • Where the team will go next.

Read on to see how far we can push Brighton FC in the Premier League on FM24!

This is where we discuss how Brighton FC have done in terms of the supporter and board objectives on FM24. It is important to measure how you are doing in line with the team objectives, or you haven’t really got a hope. The team data while general data gives us wider perspective of how the team is performing.

The first thing to mention here is that while we finished 8th, we qualified for the Champions League. We did this by winning the Europa League and having one of the easiest runs getting there. Other than that we scored and conceded goals which suited where we finished. Also the win rate was roughly where we finished, so we were very consistent.

We had ten draws which is something to improve on, if we can turn a few of those into wins that would help a lot, we could gain 4 or 6 points. That alone would put us in the running for the Europa league. Our main focus will be to score ten more goals this year and concede ten less goals. In total this should supply us with 5 more wins.

Either way, using the data in the team stats we can see that we have had good season and there is potential. We have identified that we can increase performance on either end of the field, so how do we?

Individual Performances

This is where we dig deeper and scratch the surface of individual performances. Once we understand the general overview, then we need to look at the supporting performances for Brighton FC on FM24. We will work out our strengths and weaknesses within the team to help towards our goals.

The first observation is that we have a number of players playing over a 7 rating. There have been a number of signings and a number of key performers within the team. Adam Webster has been amazing at the back and is the only player to play over 7 who starts at the club. Jacob Ramsey and Otavio were both signed in January, while Pickford and Gedson Fernandes were both signed from the start.

Brighton FC FM24 player performance

Looking at the Xg data, the data looks fairly low across the board, but we have a number of players exceeding their expected. Gedson, Pedro, Mitoma, Webster and Ramsey have been our best goal scoring threats. Evan Ferguson won a number of awards in Europe like player of the year and young player of the year, but in the league he struggled to make an imprint.

When we look at the pass completion test we can see that the majority of the team are playing brilliant passing football. Our biggest concern is our new defender Ranieri is losing the ball in our most important third. The second biggest problem is Billy Gilmour losing the ball in the middle third.

Brighton FC tactics on FM24

This is where we discuss the tactics that we have used this season with Brighton FC on FM24. We normally use the tactic we developed from the day one guide, which we did on both games. We will also discuss any changes that we have made with the tactic over the season.

This tactic is a heavy possession based formation with a gegenpress strategy. We basically want to control possession as an offensive and defensive tool and then we want to press as soon as we lose the ball to recover it. Looking at the passing network we want to have at least 5 passing options available.

Defensively we could be better, the biggest problem we have are through balls. There are a number of ways to deal with this, we could go deeper to stop being caught on the back foot. We could press less as we are currently forcing the opposition to fly through balls over the top. The other thing is to recruit for stronger defenders.

Conclusion

Brighton FC have been a fantastic challenge for me personally on FM24. A lot of teams are pretty straight forward to manage, but Brighton have got me thinking and I like that.

The strength of this team is the amount of top quality young players in the team. You need to get in there increase the youth facilities and change the staff to work with youngsters and help these guys develop.

The weakness of this team is the lack of experience in the team. With so many young players there is an element of inconsistency. While you have Milner, Lallana and Gross, they are limited on their ability and declining all the time.

The opportunity with Brighton FC is the team that has already been built, now strengthen it to continue the good work. With this mentality you want to be proactive and build the team with the intention of winning the league.

The threat is that this club becomes a selling club. If this is the case you need to build to be a more successful club to stop players wanting to leave for better teams. You also want to sell players after 26 when they are at their peak to maximise the profit from the sell.

I hope you enjoyed this guide, now go and start your journey with Brighton FC on FM24. Please comment any feedback below.
