You used to be a big deal right?
Welcome to the Valencia FM26 team guide! Valencia used to be top club in European football as Arsenal fans probably remember, not now though.
In the Valencia FM26 team guide we are going to look at the key players, effective strategy and tactics, future wonderkids and transfer targets.
By the end of this guide you will have a good idea of how to manage Valencia and bring them back to glory.
Valencia FM26 Club Overview
In this section of the Valencia FM26 team guide we will look at the board and supporter expectations and how they will effect us while managing the club. I will break the various expectations of the board and supporters and build them into our tactics and strategy.
Let’s start with the board expectations…………….there aren’t any. This is a lovely surprise, and it means that we do not have a rules or restrictions imposed on us. As long as we are successful the board will not care.
Next let’s look at the supporter expectations…….again there aren’t any. In terms of a rebuild challenge you couldn’t ask for anything better, it’s your vision and it’s your build.

Valencia FM26 Squad Guide
Key Players
Our first step in the Valencia FM26 team guide is to put a first team out. To do this we need to identify our key players and build a formation that uses them all. This strength based approach starts by using the assistant report to identify the key players and then use their best positions to map out the possible formations.
Like so many teams in mid table, we have a decent amount of key players, with no one really standing out. This indicates that we have a team rather than individuals to work with. Javi Guerra is the pick of the team, but I wonder why we have two good goalkeepers, one on loan.

Best Youth Prospects
This next step is important, we need to identify which youngsters have the potential in the future. We follow the same process as above, but we use potential ability instead of the current ability. Then we map out the formations which could be effective for the team we have.
As you can see we have so many youngsters and potential wonderkids, I couldn’t fit them all on one screen shot. Otorbi seems to be the to keep an eye on according to the reports. In the future it looks as though we could be lining up in a 4231, 433 or even a 424.

Looking at the squad, we have a great future, this team could turn into a youth factory.
Valencia FM26 Wonderkids & Young Talents
Here we are, the wonderkids section of the Valencia FM26 team guide. The wonderkids are very popular among FM players as we can buy them, develop and even sell them. It’s great to see a player develop for you and go on to greater things so you can fund the next one or two.
Valencia do not have an extensive list, but there is always time to recruit the next bunch. Here they are:
- Raul Jimenez
- David Otorbi
Both of these players are worth developing and blooding in the first team. If the worst comes to the worst, you can always ask whether it’s performance or profit when you get a bid.
Valencia FM26 Tactics & Best Formation
Rolling on to the next phase in the Valencia FM26 team guide, the tactics. This is the reason why most people come to this blog or team guide. We basically create the tactic from scratch using the data from the previous sections to help us. At this point in the game, there isn’t a lot of data until we start playing.
Let’s start with the tactical style – Gegenpress, shock! As you guys probably know by now my default is Gegenpress, it is so effective and I know as much as you need to know about it.
The transitions are crazy, the out of possession is the standard 433, solid and dependable, especially in Gegenpress world. The in possession tactic is a little scary for the average FM player, it’s a 217 effectively. It’s a lovely formation if you have a lot of forward thinking players and have nothing to lose.
The basic movements of the tactic are the wingers push into the ST space, creating an overload. The MCs move up into the AMC space to offer the passing option and create chances, this is the most effective place to create chances. The ingbacks at this point are offering the width in the wingers spots. It’s utter chaos.

This shape works even better if you use the FM26 433 transition model.
Transfer Recommendations for Valencia in FM26
Positions to Strengthen
This is an interesting area for the Valencia FM26 team guide as it does need investment, but what direction are we going in? When we look at the key players we do not have individuals, we have a nicely balanced team.
The defence could do with some work like most teams in the Spanish league. We could also look to bring in a player or two who are rated better than 3.5 stars.
Potential Signings
I would focus on recruiting from the rivals you have and the teams which are predicted to finish in the positions above you. This is the old Lyon method they used when winning the Ligue Un, buying from their rivals above them to increase their own standard. You will still have a nicely balanced team if you layer it correctly.
Valencia FM26 Save Challenges
Back in 2004 Valencia won La Liga, since then what have they done? The days of John Carew, Ruben Baraja and the gang are well in the past. This is basically a rebuild, let’s get Valencia back to the top. Let’s ruffle the feathers of the big boys and push them to the wire. It’s not going to be a one season wonder, we need a 5 year plan to rebuild.
Conclusion
I hope you have enjoyed the Valencia FM26 team guide as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Valencia is a great prospect if you want a rebuild challenge and bring them back to the title race. There is going to be some short term pain to get some long term gain.
I used the team guide for the first half of the season to get a feel for what could be achieved. As you can see we went a bit mental with goals becoming the top scoring team, but we conceded nearly as many. We are overachieving on our media prediction though and that is promising.

What ever you decide to do, have fun with Valencia, they are a good platform to get started with a rebuild.
