Chelsea FM26 Team Guide – Master the Rebuild and Compete for Titles Again

Blue is the colour!

Welcome to the Chelsea FM26 team guide! This is another one of the popular rebuilds in Football Manager.

The Chelsea FM26 team guide is useful if you want to know the best players, best tactics, wonderkids and transfer targets.

By the end of this guide you will have fundamental understanding of how to manage Chelsea.

Chelsea FM26 Club Overview

Our first step in developing the Chelsea FM26 team guide is starting with the expectations of the board and the fans. These expectations should always be adhered to otherwise you could find yourself out of a job. Use the expectations as a set of rules or a goal to dictate your style.

Let’s have a look at the board expectations to start with:

  • Sign High Reputation Players
  • Sign Players Under the Age of 23 for the future.

I find this interesting, they are only concerned about the recruitment process. This means that you are free to do what you want in terms of tactical styles. Also this shows that you can stack your club high with wonderkids and they will support you.

The supporters are more focussed on the playing style that you choose for the team. They want to see attacking football and entertaining football, these go hand in hand. Again the tactical styles here are limited to Gegenpress and Tiki taka because of the attacking and both score high for entertainment.

Key Players

This is one of the exciting parts of the Chelsea FM26 team guide, the key players. What we are doing here is identifying who our best players are, then looking at the best positions. We will then create a formation map to fit all of our top players in.

Looking at the key players, players over 3 stars, the midfield trio stand tall. It is one of the best midfields in the world today of Palmers, Fernandez and Caicedo. The rest of the key players are defenders which gives us a strong defence. 4231 looks likely, but I’m open minded to anything based around the trio.

Best Youth Prospects

The next part of picking our formation or shape is looking at filling the team out with youngsters or squad players. These are players with high potential, not necessarily high current ability. We then take their best positions like we did before and we map out a formation around them.

Straight away my worry is the lack of good goal keepers. According to this Jorgensen is the best keeper and has potential to be better. We also have a nice long list of players that can make up the squad, so it gives us options. It’s definitely going to be 4231, but whether it will be the DM or MC version, I’m not convinced.

Chelsea FM26 Wonderkids & Young Talents

Of course I had to include this section in the Chelsea FM26 team guide. After seeing the amazing young talent they have bought in real life it is no surprise they have a long list of wonderkids. They include:

  • Jamie Gittens
  • Ishe Samuels-Smith
  • Mamadou Sarr
  • Leo Castledine
  • Tyrique George
  • Jorrel Hato
  • Geovany Quenda
  • Reggie Walsh

As always, remember to treat them well, develop them, give them game time and you could be rewarded with a world beater.

Chelsea FM26 Tactics & Best Formation

This section of the Chelsea FM26 team guide is where it all comes together in the form of a tactic. We will use all the previous information from the previous sections in order to build a tactic that has the full synergy of the club.

We have once again gone with the Gegenpress tactical style due to the board and supporters objectives. The 4231 which we put together through the key player best positions suits a Gegenpress really well. This is due to the very central nature of the formation working well with the counter press.

The way this tactic works is that when we recover the ball, the left full back will sprint up the field, and the AML will move into ST. While this is happening the DMs will push up to MC and the right fullback will step over centrally. This gives us the 5 man attack and chaos in the opponents half.

This shape works even better if you use the 7th Heaven tactic transition model.

Transfer Recommendations for Chelsea in FM26

Positions to Strengthen

As we have discussed in the Chelsea FM26 team guide, they have fantastic squad depth made up of potential world class players. The only area at I would look at is the GK. Jorgensen I am not convinced on, Sanchez is not good enough.

The other thing I would do is keep an eye on players not living up to their potential and players who are injury prone. Both result in the same, transfer them out.

Potential Signings

Wonderkids, wonderkids, wonderkids.

Then start replacing them depending on their performance and development.

Chelsea FM26 Save Challenges

Chelsea has been a popular rebuild over the last few years. The Chelsea FM26 team guide indicates where and how we can rebuild Chelsea. This also leads on to targeting the Premier League title.

Conclusion

Who hasn’t been interested in managing Chelsea on FM26? They are one of the more interesting clubs to watch in the Premier League with their style and recruitment. We get to the chance to take Chelsea into the future and see how these stars could turn out.

I used the Chelsea FM26 team guide to play the first half of the season and it was fun. It started off a bit rocky, but we started to get into it. At Christmas we were 4th as you can see, where the media predicted us basically.

Give them a go and see what you can do with them. I’m sure if you gave it a go and bought a couple of players for your system you could win the league with them.
