Team Objectives

So here we are at the start of our journey with Frosinone on FM24. The reason to look at these is to get some guidance on where the club wants to get to. These objectives govern the culture and identity of the club and to go against them could end your career early.

board objectives

So looking at the board objectives, it is clear to see this club is a youth developer with a twist. They want to develop youngsters through their own system and use them in the first team.

To develop a youth system, we need to first upgrade our facilities to the best level that we can afford and our youth recruitment. We then need to replace our coaches with staff that have high ability with working with youngsters and motivation. We could then look at getting scouts that focus on judging potential and a great head of youth development.

Other than that we can look at affiliate clubs to loan youngsters out to, mentoring groups, player personalities and exposing them to first team football. There are bonus points if you buy and develop Italian players too.

In terms of playing style, the board want entertaining football and that tends to relate to higher tempo football. There are a number of styles that we could play as a result of this.

The fans are quite a straight forward bunch, they aren’t bothered about your style or your recruitment policies. They are very territorial and want to beat our rivals if we ever meet them in a match.

The other objective is to stay in Serie A, which any club should be focussed on. Of course you want to aim higher than this, but this will be a primary objective.

Frosinone first 11

So here we are, picking the team for our save game with Frosinone on FM24. This next step is how we sort the key players in the team, the players that we will base the strategy around. We use the assistant reports to sort our team into key players and squad players.

FM24 Frosinone guide key players

The first thing I notice with the key players is that most of them are on loan. This is a dangerous thing as we will lose most of them at the end of the year as they will go back to their clubs. We have a strong core of players here, but a real lack of forward players in the team.

This team is shaping up to play 4 at the back with a goalkeeper. The midfield can be quite flexible by the looks of things and we can look at the depth from the squad players too.

FM24 Frosinone guide squad players

We now have a different observation with the squad, we have massive squad. This means that the permanent squad is obviously below the standard and better players we loaned in due to a lack of funds.

There are a number of strikers available, most of which are pressing forwards, which suit a gegenpress or heavy pressing team. This opens the door to more attacking styles, we need the fittest and quickest players to play efficiently.

FM24 Frosinone guide tactics

Now this is my favourite part, building the FM24 tactics for Frosinone. We take all the information from above and mix it together and see what we get. There will be a few gaps that we will fill with assumptions and then it’s time to test the tactic. I am really excited about this one as it is an underdog project.

So let’s start from the top, how we will get our goals. We’ve gone with two strikers up front, mainly because of quality and depth. With two strikers you are not relying on one striker to score goals, both have the ability and will cause a defence trouble with their broad array of skills.

Supporting them are two inverted wingers that will cross into the box with inswingers. This causes it’s own problems for the opposition and it forms a box in front of the goal. More goals are scored from central areas, and this makes us a constant threat.

Shorter passing you will tend to play down the middle, this means that you will encounter problems from compact defences using a low or medium block. The deep lying playmaker is there to pump the ball forward and get the attacks going. The ball winning midfielder is there to disrupt the opposition and recycle the ball.

FM24 Frosinone guide tactics

Defensively I have gone with a risky strategy, we are playing with wing backs and no DM to shield them. The wing backs will push forward to stretch the play while the inverted wingers go inside. We could swap these for inverted wingbacks to push the opposition out wide, but with a high line this maybe counter productive.

Get started with our FM24 Frosinone guide today

Our FM24 Frosinone guide makes for an exciting save idea. Frosinone are a true underdog in Serie A and it will take so hard work to keep them up, but it can be done. The primary objective is to stay up this year and then next year follow in the footsteps of other promoted teams and challenge midtable.

The strength of this team is the sheer amount of key players we have. While a lot are on loan we actually only need them for this year and we can have one ye on building for next year. The weakness of the team is the amount of loan players, this is a double edged sword. If they play well, they aren’t our player and will cost to replace.

The opportunity for the team here is to become a standalone sustainable club. There is a big focus on the young players and developing them, while not wasting resources on players over 30. This shows that we are interested in seeing a return on the players that we develop.

The threat to the club is not performing, we cannot afford to waste resources on risks or gambles. We need to be accountable for every penny and where it is performing on the pitch. A Moneyball strategy could come in handy here.
