Telegraph Fantasy Football Tips GW4 – Best Transfers, Picks & Strategy

On to the next one…….

So it was a week of ups and downs in the Telegraph Fantasy Football, lucky it’s an international break now!

Either way we have plenty of time to get ourselves together and build back better. We have even refined the model further to give more accurate results and fixture predictions for our TFF GW4 tips.

Here we go, we’re back again!

Welcome back to another game week in the Telegraph Fantasy Football for season 25/26. Apologies the blog is a little later than planned, I have been refining the model to be accurate. This will affect our player picks and the fixture difficulties, it has even predicted how the league will finish.

So the game weeks are starting to pass us by, we are in GW4 already and we have been a little inconsistent in that time. As a result I have been refining the model to give better data driven decisions for TFF GW4 tips. Let’s get into it!

TFF GW3 Round Up

GW3 started off well, was going well and then unfortunately some games ended slightly differently to how we imagined. The two main games to highlight is Man City losing 2-1 to Brighton and Nottingham Forest getting beaten by West Ham at the City Ground. Both these two results punished the team and the defenders went from clean sheets to conceding 2 or more.

Telegraph Fantasy Football team for GW3

The Chelsea contingent are best players in TFF carrying this team at the moment with a couple of individuals chipping in. Haaland looks good and I think he will be back to his old self this season. Fernandes who has always been one of my favourites is towing the line as well.

This is what we need, a core team who will perform well in the league and reach the later phases of the cups (Oops sorry United!). Remember that the transfer window has closed and there are lots of new faces joining the league.

Telegraph Fantasy Football GW4 Fixtures

This is the interesting part, the fixtures as part of our TFF GW4 tips. What I try to do is to assess the teams to predict the winner of the game. In turn we can then judge whether they win by scoring or not conceding. Very strong favourites tend to be able to keep a clean sheet or score a lot of goals. Liverpool are a good example of goal scorers, and you will see a correlation with scoring goals and winning leagues and cups.

The strong fixtures for GW4 in the Telegraph Fantasy Football are:

  • Newcastle v Wolves – Newcastle are looking good, especially as they have strikers now. Wolves are very poor at the moment, and the model does not see them doing well here. Newcastle have a few good games coming up too, Bournemouth away and Arsenal at home.
  • Fulham v Leeds – It’s time to turn it on Fulham! Fulham have had a slow start, but they now have Leeds at home, Brentford at home and potentially a tough one away against Villa.
  • Burnley v Liverpool – Liverpool are Liverpool and have no interest in defending, they just want to score. Now they have Isak to strengthen that objective too. Then they have Everton at home which will be fireworks.
  • West Ham v Tottenham – Tottenham have had an interesting start, a strong start really. They are coming off the back of a loss and Kudus will want to prove ‘Tottenham is in his heart’ in this fixture.

Telegraph Fantasy Football transfers GW4

This is going to be an interesting segment as we have a lot of opportunities to make a difference in the team. The art of Telegraph Fantasy Football is buying the right player at the right time and that’s where we help. Data driven decisions is what we need to make the right moves in the transfer market.

Transfers In

So let’s look at the teams that have a strong fixture in GW4. The best players GW4 TFF:

  • Tottenham – Xavi Simons, this guy is the perfect midfielder according to the model and with the fixtures coming up this could be the perfect start for him. The other players worth looking at is Kudus, especially against West Ham and Porro who is always a good choice.
  • Newcastle – We are spolit for choice at Newcastle, we have the choice of defenders, midfielders or attackers. Guimaraes and Tonali are complete midfielders and good picks regardless. Defensively Lewis Hall looks like a great choice, but any of the defence will do a job for you. The problems is the forwards, Woltemade and Wissa which one will play?
  • Fulham – Fulham haven’t got anything great at the top of the field, both Iwobi and Smith-Rowe look the best there, but defensively there are some great options in Robinson and Andersen.
  • Liverpool – Have many amazing players as we all know. With Isak coming in I’m not sure where Ekitike plays. Salah is a definite unless injured, but he can be expensive. At the moment, both MacAllister and Szoboszlai, look like good picks and contribute in all areas. Van Dijk and Kerkez are both fit and probably the best picks in the defense.

Transfers Out

Let’s get the obvious ones out the way, get out of Brentford, get out of Burnley, Leeds and Wolves. These teams are about to go through a really rough patch and it’s worth avoiding them for the mean time.

The other team which the models is worried about is West Ham. Even though they did beat Forest the model recognises this as a blip as opposed to the start of a resurgence. You can see something is happening at West Ham as they are linked with a new manager too.

Conclusion

So that is everything for GW4 of the Telegraph Fantasy Football and it’s starting to shape up nicely. We’ve got new players, an international, cup competitions, the league fixtures hotting up and everything to play for.

It looks like it’s going to be a good week for Newcastle, Fulham, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Have fun and enjoy the games guys!
