Everton complete first season guide

The financial bad boys of the league

Everton FC are in a soap opera at the moment. They were deducted 10 points because of financial over spending and find themselves fighting uphill. Can they turn it around?

So here we are, another episode of how to manage a Premier League club in the first season. How this works is that we take over an EPL set them up and play through the first season on FM24.

What this means to you is that you get recommendations or suggestions to help you when you mange one of the those clubs. Check out our day one guides on how to set up your new team.

We will be using Everton in this episode, what a great guide to do with all the drama surrounding the club. This drama follows them into the FM24 world with a minus 10 point deduction. • Look at the league performance and individual performances.
  • We will look at the tactics which have been used in Football Manager 24.
  • Potential transfers and areas of improvement.

Everton results

This is the section where we discuss how the team is progressing in the league. While this information is generally simple, it can lead to greater investigation which in turn leads to positive changes in the team. It can tell us the style of the teams we like to play against for example, or if we are better home or away.

First impressions of the results in the league are very encouraging so far. We have only lost 4 out of twenty, and won a whopping 13. We are scoring a lot from the results and conceding a few. This is attacking football at it’s best. The only real blip was losing away to city 6-1.

Talking of the big teams, we have battered Arsenal 4-0 and our Merseyside rivals 4-2 on FM24. These are important games as it shows that we can compete on their level in the league, something to aspire to. I just love how many goals we have scored, the schedule looks great.

Moving onto the league, we are just hovering outside the European spots. Everton FC used to be in Europe regularly, so to get them back in would help financially and right some wrongs. We are scoring at a rate of nearly 2.5 a game and conceding 1.4 a game. This is impressive average scoring, and explains the good GD.

If we hadn’t started with the negative ten points, we would have been 3rd in the league. Now that would have been impressive indeed, Everton FC seem a bit to easy to use on FM24.

Individual Performance

In this section, we speak around the individual performances in the team and what do they mean to the rest of the team. I will only go into a few basic stats, otherwise I could be writing for days. The best thing here is spot any trends related to any general problems, or spot a problems to stamp them out now.

First thing to note is how many players are playing over a 7 average rating. Not only are they playing over 7, they are playing well over a 7. Calvert Lewin is one of the best strikers I have used on FM24, he has the lot and in abundance. He always seems to find a way and has been called up to the England squad.

Beto has been great too, scoring above his Xg and creating a few goals. He has been called up to the Portugal squad a few times under my guidance. We have also received a £60m offer from a Saudi team which I have accepted. It is a shame, but this is the strategy the club wants to follow.

Everton Best players FM24

I’m not going to go through everyone, but this team has been fantastic and I look forward to pushing on this season. It seems to be about right in the squad size and has a good blend of young and old players such as Dele Alli and Seamus Coleman, the Everton FC club captain.

Everton Tactics

In this section we speak about the tactics that we have used so far this season and how well they have worked. Sometimes tactics need a rejig, and we will go through the reasons for that. There maybe an opportunity that we have not noticed before.

With Everton it was obvious that we would be using a 442, the Sean Dyche trademark. I absolutely love the 442, I know this tactic inside out, especially in FM24. The tactic also invites the opportunity to have two out and out strikers with different roles, which is a massive advantage.

Everton FM24 Tactics

The team is based on partnerships, and we can see that those links are forming on FM24. The whole point of this tactic is that we win the ball, push it out wide to the wingers, who will in turn supply the forwards. Easy as that as they say.

The defence has been really solid, which was a surprise to me. The back four is the best defence, but this is an attacking formation with a gap in front of the defence. Have a look at the process of how we set this team up.

Conclusion

Everton were the main club I wanted to manage as a challenge after what happened to them. It turns out that they are a lot of fun and have the potential to really push forward. We are scoring so many goals, who doesn’t want that?

The strengths of the team, seem to be the forwards, Beto and Calvert Lewin. Both have a high rate of scoring with us and long may it continue. The weakness in the team seems to be as squad on the smaller side, and as a result we got a lot of injuries and struggled to cover.

In terms of opportunities, there are a number of younger players who are up for the task and could soon develop later. This is put the club in a great area of consistency. The threat is that the financials are not covered. This is always disappointing when the board mismanage the finances and it doesn’t work out.

Go and jump on your Everton FC horse on FM24, the challenge awaits you. Please like and comment what you think on this series.
