Burnley FC Results

In this section we discuss the current results of Burnley FC on FM24. This includes topics such as where we are to our goals and what sort of teams we are successful against. Using this data could highlight a large issue and help towards where we can either take advantage or strengthen.

Burnley FC is a tough gig in the first season. It started well beating some of the big boys and then went south quite quickly. While the first half of the season has to be seen as a triumph, it has been a slog. We had a tough start playing against the top 6 in the first 6 games, which in turn damaged the morale.

It took until October to turn it around to a midtable form, and again in November. December started badly and then we grabbed a couple of wins before January. So in terms of trends or form it is very inconsistent, which is something we will look into.

Looking at the league we are doing really well when compared to the media prediction before the season started. I think a lot has to do with luck here as our form suggestions we should be in the lower half with more losses than wins. Our goals on the other suggest midtable as we have scored as many as we have conceded.

When looking at the FM24 data for Burnley FC, we are doing well up front, but the defence are a mess. Studies have proven that if we can concede ten less goals that we did the previous season we can earn another 2.6 wins. That would put us up to 8th/9th, so it shows how important it is to stop goals.

Individual Performance

In this section we look at the player performances to highlight as problems within the team or any potential problems. It also highlights who our best and worst players are, helping to formulate a plan for the team.

So on first observations, we only have two players that are playing over a 7+ rating. One of them is on loan and doesn’t play and the other wants to leave. This is not a good start, it does not convince me that is a team that i performing.

Burnley FC Best Players FM24

Let’s dive into the Xg data for Burnley FC. All players barring Koleosho and Lyle Foster are playing their part of the goal scoring KPIs. Koleosho is not a worry as he is only just missing it, but he is also assisting goals, so he is involved. Lyle Foster on the other hand is a problem as he is our main goal scorer.

Looking at another basic KPI is the 85% pass completion test. Tresor, Taylor, Manuel Benson, Jay Rodriguez and Luca Koleosho are all failing in that regard. Tresor has one of the worst stats I have ever seen, while the others are in forward positions so play riskier passes. These are things to keep an eye on.

Burnley FC Tactics

In this section, we go through the tactic that we have been using from the start of the season. We tend to use the tactic that we build and recommended in the day one series. This gives us a great theory to work from, even if we do change it further into the season.

After going through the squad at the start of the season, we decided on going with a 4231. This formation is excellent for retaining possession, so we can starve the opposition of the ball. We also want to get the ball back as soon as we turn it over, especially with our five man midfield to swarm them with. The goals and opportunities will be coming through the attacking midfielders and striker.

Burnley FM24 Tactics

Defensively we are exposed without a DM and having a high line. So the solutions we have are dropping the line off, but that makes us less compact. The other option is to drop the midfield to DM and create a shield in front of the defence. This will get another line of defensive, but will reduce attacking support.

Conclusion

Burnley FC on FM24 are a tough challenge if you are up for it. There isn’t much of transfer budget, but you do have a complete squad with a number of talented players to work with. There is definitely a team here that will survive the Premier League, but it comes in the form of attack.

The strength to this team is the goal scoring ability. We have manged to score in the majority of games that we have played, and outscored Man City. The weakness to this team is pretty obvious by now, the defence has no idea what it is doing. Some reinforcements and a change of tactics will help here.

The opportunity of the team is the relatively young age. This means that either you will develop them and sell them to make huge profit and reinvest or you will start to see improvements in the team over time and compete. The threat of this team is that the challenge is here and now, if you don’t stay up this season most of the players will want to leave, meaning the project was a waste.
