Brighton FC results

In this section we discuss the team results and the league table and what it means to us. While the team data on FM24 is rather general, it can help you spot a potential trend. Things you can see are the type of teams you do well against or how you perform at home. Either way, this could be a starting to to changing the way your team recruit or play.

I will put my hands up straight away on this one, I have really struggled to pull Brighton FC together on FM24. The team just does not want to score, and we create so many opportunities. As you see from the start of the season, we have conceded so many goals, so are we poor at the back or scoring? From the start you can see we are absolutely awful away from home.

Brighton FC Results FM24

December has started to turn around after a meeting with the board, asking what the hell was going on. The first thing we need to do is reorganise to be better at home, create a fortress. We have made it to January so it is time for a good sort out in the team to push forward.

Looking at the table it does not any better, we are following a relegation team form. We need to dig ourselves out of this position and get the mid table the board want. Currently we are scoring 1.5 goals a game, but conceding over 2 goals a game, this shows it’s the defence we need to focus on with Brighton FC.

Brighton FM24 League Table

We need to put a plan together in order to stop the bleeding of goals, this is going to be tactical and personnel change. Let’s move onto the individual performances to get an idea what is happening.

Individual Performance

In this section we discuss the individual performance of the Brighton FC on FM24. This is where we get more granular data in order to work on our more general problems. We use the straight line theory to change our course in the future through little changes.

As you can see from the data, the team have very little to shout about. We have one key player outperforming the team and a couple of other players playing well. This is not enough and we must get to the root cause. Billy Gilmour has been phenomenal, Kaoru Mitoma has bee very good too. Additionally Solly March on the other wing has been playing well, this indicates that the creation of chances is very good.

Brighton Best players FM24

Let’s look at the Xg data to see who hasn’t been taking their chances so far for Brighton FC. Gross is the main liability here, while he is a isolated case we need to keep an eye on him. Every one else has done their part, apart from a few defenders, but I didn’t bring them on board to score.

Let’s look at the passing data to understand if we are turning the ball over too much. It looks to me that the forwards are having a difficult time finding each other. We could look at working the ball into box, or playing narrower to reduce the wide distance.

Brighton FC Tactics

In this section, we speak about the tactics that have been used in the season so far. We like to work from front to back to understand how the goals are scored and how they are created. You can see all our guides of how to set up each team on FM24, including tactics.

Choosing a tactic was easy, or so I thought anyway. The team are very well laid out in the formation below, the 4231. This tactic is a great attacking tactic on FM24 for passing, it is very common on the continent. We have no problem with keeping possession and starving the opposition of the ball.

Brighton FM24 Tactics

To increase the defensive nature of this team we have a number of options available such as pulling back the MCs into DM to create a shield for the defence. We don’t lose attack on this because we will push the extra responsibility out wide to the full backs. We could look at the defensive line or the pace of the defence.

Another area we could look into is the goalkeepers at Brighton FC. We all know that one is a star of the future and then we have Jason Steel. I’m just not convinced of their present quality.

Conclusion

Brighton FC on FM24 has been an eye opener. I was expecting a relatively easy game with some adjustment for tactics for the team. What I have got is an uphill battle to stay in the job. The next instalment will be very telling, I may not even be able to finish the season.

The strength of the team is the attacking ability that is available in the team. Mitoma, March and the other midfielders have great footballing ability in an attacking set up. The weakness in the this team is the defence, in addition to this the goal keeper. This is an area of concern as we have seen and is holding the team back playing attacking football.

The opportunity in this team is the youth. The young age of a lot of these players is going to set Brighton FC up for the future. On FM24 some of the team are wonderkids too, which shows how good they can be. The threat of the club is being pilfered by the rich clubs every year. Being a selling club has it’s downsides, you need to have ways of replacing players. An awesome scouting system will help.
